Last year I planted 3 raspberries bushes. They seem to be multiplying as there is LOTS of the leaves sprouted up all over including outside the raised bed I planted them in.  I also need to stake them up. Too many irons in the garden fire. LOL I had planted one strawberry plant in there not knowing how big these got. smiling. Maybe this year I will have raspberries.

This year I ordered 2 giant blueberry and 2 flowering cherry plants. Now all I need is more strawberry plants. My veg garden is going to be more of a fruit garden.

Fruit salad. My favorite if only I could be there to help pick 'em.

Hi Sharon, Your Berry garden is going to be awesome. These are the best of all fruits health wise. The dark berries add the good kind of cholesterol to the body.

Hi Sharon, when I had raspberries I learned they are quite prolific.  I also learned that I had to get out there quick to pick enough for our morning cereal before the birds ate them all! LOL  I love the thought of blueberries the size of quarters like in your photo- YUM!

Mary-By the looks of all the off shoots I think you are right. I bought shrubs with berries for the birds. They best leave mine alone. I love the idea of quarter size berries too.

Um....maybe some bird netting will help them distinguish your berries from theirs, otherwise I found they just didn't care much about what was mine :-)

Sounds like Heaven to me!  We were surprised to find strawberries growing in our yard at our new home this year.  Not much came of it though...I'm hoping for a bigger crop this year.

Sharon I have a fig tree that we are cutting back on Friday. I never get to eat any of those figs because I am not as fast as the birds. I also have peach tree that will be panted Friday. I am excited, finally I am starting to do some yard appeal to my home.

Mary-You think a sign that says NO BIRDS allowed will work. LOL. Trust me I will do whatever it takes to keep them OUT of mine.  They will have PLENTY of their own.

Sharon-Heaven indeed. I will turn into a berry once I start getting berries. I am not sure how long I will have to wait but it will be worth it.  Hope you get that big crop. I love strawberries.

Sussie-I love peachs so hope your tree bears lots of fruit.

Hi Sharon, Hope you get lots of veggies and fruit. I think the birds are after my apricots already and they are still green. I hope they get belly aches. Your flowers every day are beautiful. *I just read an interesting article by Judith Parker about coffee grounds and I think you will be interested too.

Kristin-Thank you. You wouldn't think they would eat them green. My grandmother used to use coffee grounds as well as eggshells in her garden. She would will her garden to grow.
