The Living Desert is a MUST-DO for Visitors to Palm Springs
This weekend my brother was visiting from Kansas and we wanted to share the beauty of our desert with he and his girlfriend. We all have our list of the top places to go and things to do here.
I posted a Top 10 Things to do in Palm Springs Area list a few months ago and there is no doubt that
The Living Desert belongs on that list!
Not only do they have an impressive collection of African and North American wild life- they also have gardens bursting with cactus, sage, wildflowers and all kinds of desert plants. You can also access a trail and wilderness loop and actually take a hike out into the desert, up a small mountain, and view the San Andreas fault from a viewing station.
Depending on what time of the day you are sure to see some amazing animals and if you are lucky you will get an up-close experience like we had yesterday. This beautiful mountain lion came right up to greet us!
What could be better than that?
You can follow The Living Desert on Facebook too!
