Okay, I have to admit I was a little concerned when I was sitting in Panera Bread in Folsom, CA all by myself just minutes before the Sacramento MeetUp. It is always a bit difficult to get an accurate number of those that will be attending, especially when we are all so busy professionally. Then my phone buzzed.
DeeDee Riley was just minutes away, and would be there shortly – thank goodness! DeeDee is always a good conversationalist and being from the same county, El Dorado, we have a lot of local topics that we can touch on. She was not the first to arrive though.
Ray Henson walked in right on time and I started to feel better about the get together. I met Ray at a couple of the past MeetUps and I knew he was from Elk Grove. Having lived in Elk Grove for a while, it’s great to hear how things are changing in that market. I did learn that he has changed Agencies; Rey now works over at Hughes Real Estate.
Moments later, in walked Dan Mincher. Dan got his first taste of a MeetUp at the last event. It was good to get caught up on the commercial real estate side of things. I mentioned that I had seen his name on a sign on Madison Ave, that led into a conversation about some of his real estate properties. He works over at The Vollman Company, Inc., give him a call for your commercial real estate needs.
In walks DeeDee Riley, we now have four ActiveRainers in the house. She works out of the Lyon Real Estate in El Dorado Hills, just one exit away from where we were sitting.
Ute Ferdig arrived minutes later coming straight from a home inspection for a client in Sacramento. Ute is from the Newcastle area but does a lot of traveling to help her clients. I met her for the first time at a MeetUp out in Roseville, she is always exciting to talk to. There was some attorney bashing by a few of us that didn’t realize she is an attorney herself. She handled it with grace.
Oh yeah, I was there too - Tom Arstingstall
We talked real estate, drank tea, talked about pregnant women, ate salad, discussed Duck Dynasty, educated ourselves on “Honey Boo Boo”, we laughed, had riveting conversations about dry rot, talked about blogging and so much more. I really enjoyed the afternoon and look forward to the next one.
If you have never been to a local MeetUp, give it a try!
