Kansas City- Council of Women Business Owners has organized a Team Poker Smackdown for February 16 at 5:30 pm at Take2Productions, 1906 Wyandotte, KCMO.

The program features an hour session of Texas Hold-em Poker Training with professional poker Player Steve Hohn, Concessions and finally the Tournament which is to last three hours.  At 10:00pm there will be a winner award ceremony and prizes will be awarded.

The event will be run a concept of having teams of 7 players challenge one another.  The teams will represent a company or other sponsoring group playing at the table named for the team/sponsor.  The play will be visible to all because it will appear on the many video screens arranged around the Take2 Productions venue.

A donation of $1500 meets the requirements to become a sponsor of a table for a team of seven players.  You can learn more about sponsorship packages at the KC-Council of Women Business Owners website.

The event is presented by the KC-CWBO and co-hosted by Teri Rogers of Take2 Productions and Kathy Dodd of The Corridor Group.  Teri Rogers was featured in a Women Who Mean Business - 2005  article by Lisa Waterman Gray, printed in the Kansas City Business Journal when she was listed among the women nominated to the Women Who Mean Business - 2005 list.

The purpose of the event is to raise money for a scholarship in Nancy Smith's name.  Because Nancy Smith, a member of KC-CWBO and highly respected business owner was such an inspiration to many and missed by all, the organization wants to raise enough money to fully endow the scholarship in her name.  Additional fund raising projects feature the non-profit KC-CWBO which provides support and promotion of women business owners.
