Sharing is more than caring, it's business! We’ve all known since kindergarten that the kid with the most interesting gadget on the playground is the one to be friends with. Some kids will try to fight or steal that sacred object. Some will try to manipulate their parents to get their own. And others will try to play along and share something so they can get their hands on this coveted piece of property.
It didn’t take very long for Ryan White to realize what a valuable tool he had when he acquired his own radio show.
As Ryan started sharing the program with big names and high producers in the Real Estate industry, his own status and production started to skyrocket. He and his partner started creating lists of people working in the surrounding areas they wanted to gain potential business from. This strategic offer to be on the radio started compelling contractors, attorneys, and mortgage professionals to refer all their business to Ryan.
One break-through happened when Ryan invited a contractor on the show who had a 1.3 million dollar listing. White had previously interviewed for the listing and lost it to someone else. When the listing expired: Ryan got the contractor on the air, overwhelmed him with value as he offered him referrals from other guests, invited him on for a second spot, and was handed the 1.3 Million dollar listing in the studio.
Another pivotal moment occurred for Ryan when he invited a reverse mortgage lender on the air. This lender had a listing that White was eyeing. He invited the lender on the air and then started referring additional business from other guests like a contractor that does business with elderly veterans, a senior health care provider, and an attorney who specializes in elder law. When the lender realized how much business Ryan could continually send his way, he gave the listing to Ryan INSTEAD OF his friend of 4 years that he regularly plays volleyball with.
Now previous guests are starting to open even bigger doors. When Ryan learned of a financial planner that is the self-proclaimed “best referral source in all of San Diego,” he had no choice but to get him on the air. The show itself was admittedly boring when talking about divorce for the better part of an hour. But the dry content was well worth the effort when this “best referral source” passed along a 1.2 Million dollar listing from a divorce client.
So who is the kid on the playground that everyone wants to know now?
If the old adage holds true “it’s all about who you know” … but it’s also all about the people you have the potential to meet when you have a really juicy carrot to dangle in front of them!
