Sloan’s Lake is a neighborhood that sits in between Edgewater and the West end of Denver. With its location, unique variety of homes, and overall atmosphere, Sloan’s Lake is truly a wonderful place to live.
Homes in Sloan’s Lake vary greatly in every aspect; condos, town homes, ranch style, 2 story, 2 and a half story and 3 story homes are all popular within the neighborhood. The homes currently listed in the area range in size from 799-2,014 square feet, and in price from $239k-$599k. These homes also range in age and were built anywhere from 1899 to 2013, which can certainly attest to their differences unique styles.
This neighborhood is located just out side of Denver, and provides an excellent view of Down Town and Sports Authority Field to the East and breath taking views of the mountains to the West. Sloan’s Lake is also within close access to I-25, 6th Ave and Colfax, in fact the Auraria Campus is just a short drive away on Colfax Ave.
One of the best features of the area is, what it was named after, Sloan’s Lake and Park, which spans over 177 acres. The lake itself is large enough to host the Denver Dragon Boat Races each year, and the surrounding park is large enough to contain a brand new and huge play ground, picnic areas, tennis courts, basketball courts and walking paths that surround the entire lake and park.
Although Sloan’s Lake and Park is the biggest in the area, there are several other parks very close by. Within about a 5 minute drive of Sloan’s Lake is Hallack Park, Walker-Branch Park, Richard’s Hart Estate Park, Mountair Park, Osceola and 29th Park and Aviation Park. Also near by, is Lakewood/Dry Gulch Park which sits along a walking trail that parallels a small creek. This walking path continues several miles to the East and West, and connects to several other parks and recreation areas along the way.
