At The Top - Back Where I Belong - Thanks Activerain

From 2005 to 2010 I was a trainer for CENTURY 21 Sundance Realty in Daytona Beach Florida.  For years I would tell people to google me that way or refer to myself as the Daytona Real Estate Trainer.  My website said it and the search engines agreed. Fact of the matter, I dominated the search engines and was always on the first page of Google for numerous terms and sometimes with some terms it was several pages in. I was an active blogger on Activerain and had been up until 2010.

My Life Changed Painfully

Oh life happens....For a couple of years I had taken a hiatus from real estate.  Yeah, I know that people had their own thoughts of what happened to me, I heard the rumors, the jokes and read some of the emails. Some thought I lost my mind. I only wish...its deeper than that... I lost a son.  It hurt me so much I was in denial for a long time and  in truth it was difficult in dealing with people. I tried to pick myself up and for some reason I couldn't do it. Just imagine or try to fathom how you would feel, act or think if ever you lost a child? I don't wish that on anyone and I know others who suffered like me.

A New Direction

Instead of being in the front end of real estate I opted to retreat. I spent hours writing, running social media campaigns for others and did my best to keep myself out of the lime light....I was always somebody else when I wrote and my face to face with people dwindled down. As a matter of fact, my top priority was to keep food on the table and definitely stay out of the lime light.  It worked and as a result of my new direction, slowly my web results became non-existent.  As a matter of fact, I sabotaged my web presence so that I could get away from the real estate persona that I had created myself.  Who would have thought that I would land back into real estate again?

Real Estate Is In My Blood

For the past month or so, I have been preparing for something very big to me and others involved. I'll be working with a company who really gets it and am surrounded by the best, most impressive people in the real estate industry today. It's a techie real estate company and I love everything about them. The layers of opportunity for the agents is just truly amazing!  As you can see I am excited and with good reason!

Housekeeping Please

I've had to clean up a huge ongoing online mess and it is still not up to par. Once I stepped out of real estate I let my web presence go with bad telephone numbers, wrong company names and content.  At the time it did not matter but I have been working around the clock trying to clean this up for over a month.

Where Did I Go

Another Midori Miller bypassed me on the search engines, I no longer ranked at all for Daytona real estate trainer or Daytona real estate training and I could not rank for anything in Fort Lauderdale, oh dear God, I'm a fraud. I thought. Every day I pecked at it and today its changed!

Not Sucking UP - Its Definitely Activerain

Now I am no longer afraid to say Google me:  Fort Lauderdale Real Estate Trainer or Fort Lauderdale Real Estate Training. Go ahead check out Daytona Real Estate Trainer or Daytona Real Estate Training.  I'm not 2nd for Midori Miller either and I can tell you that Activerain played a huge role in getting back some of what I lost.

It sure feels good that I am back at the top where I belong..thanks Activerain and all the community members who read me here,  on my own personal site and connect with me on social media!

Want to make improvements immediately?

Go through your stuff especially if you have fantastic articles that maybe were featured or had many views.  Add those links to various profiles and especially your Activerain profile.  Make it easy for a buyer or seller or whoever you are trying to attract. Mine is a mess but in a few weeks it will be a masterpiece once again.

No I don't work for Activerain...I just know what it can do for you and your business!

Thank you for your post, Midori!  I, too, have been out of the limelight for a while, and have let my internet presence suffer.  I am going to be working on that over the next couple of weeks!

Wishing you great success!!

Dear Midori,

Loosing a child is not something I could even remotely imagine. Wow! I would have retreated for a while too. Best of luck going forward. It looks like you are getting your mojo back, even if you will never forget.

I am so sorry for your loss. And we are glad you are back. Maybe you will inspire other AR members to come back as well. There must be many stories out there as to why bloggers stopped writing. We are all here to support each other.

Thank you and I appreciate all the support...my point of the post is that AR ranks..doesn't matter what people think about it...it ranks..you get read and fed!  Consumers find you..your peers find you...referrals find you and connect with what you post....and you never know who is reading your blog...I just recieved a contact today for biz. ;)

All we can do in life is face challenges...retreat...surrender...accept...and move forward!  I know I make it sound easy and its not...its something we all have to do in order to heal!

There are always reasons why people leave social networks or drop out of others lives..the truth is you never know what is going on in someone's life..i'm pretty transparent and I have always been....that might be why I dig blogging and writing so much.

There is a few things in life that we should understand and accept...

life goes on

love is forever

expect change

Have yourselves a fantastic day.

Hi Midori...I had no idea about your loss.  The lose of a child is the most devastating lose we can ever experience.  My heart hurts for you.

Yes, you were on the top and if you are not there today there won't be many tomorrows before you are once again.  I have been absent from Active Rain for much too long myself and have certainly noticed the difference in the activity my website receives.  Like you I plan to get back to befitting from Active Rain in many ways.

In my own way I did bail from Activerain..sometimes you have to retreat otherwise people think you lost your mind. LOL   I was angry when really I was heartbroken...it started to surface in my writing so I had to stop blogging as myself.  I'm back ....and living my life.  big smiles.

Midori: Thank you for sharing your tragedy of loosing your son and what happened to you emotionally. That's a big step in the healing process that you are obviously going through.

I am in the process right now of getting resettled in a company that I left in 2001 when one of my partners died of cancer at age 51 with 5 weeks notice, and the other left to care for her husband during 100 days of bone marrow transplant in another state for his cancer which eventually took his life. That's nothing like the death of a your son, but I felt abandoned and needed to leave the physical building where we had worked together.

I've worked in two other firms since then, but when I found out that my former company was moving into a new building even closer to home, I knew I wanted to return. For me, it has been like "coming home" as some of my old agent friends have said when they welcomed me back after a twelve year absence. I feel like I'm where I should be and have renewed energy and am excited to begin again with their support...................Good luck to you in returning to your active life and success in your new direction "back where you belong."
