Appleseed GMAC picked up its 2nd win of the season this past sunday when we defeated Belfiore Meats 34-12. We were very successful on offense, not punting one time during the whole game. Nick Beltrani threw for 5 TD's including 3 to Eric Convissar (33, 43, and 44 yards), one to Doug Convissar and one to Rob Adams. The first three touchdowns were all before halftime. Belfiore scored with 2 minutes remaining in the 2nd quarter and we responded with 30 seconds left to lead 20-6 at halftime. We scored in the 3rd quarter when Doug Convissar caught a 10 yard TD. Our next score came in the 4th quarter when Rob Adams caught a 15 yard TD pass that came with less than 3 minutes to go. We lead 34-6 before Belfiore threw up a deep ball that was caught for a TD with a little less than 2 minutes to go. That gave us a 34-12 lead and it ended with a mercy ruling by the referees. It was a 34-12 victory for us and put us at .500 for the season, being 2-2 on the season. Notable performances include Angelo Fallacaro having a clutch interception at the goal line. His 2nd interception was robbed from him when Eric Convissar jumped in front and knocked it down. He has been shutdown all season and proved it again today. Bob Convissar filled in admirably for starting corner Umberto Cordaro who could not make the game. He made many tackles and covered well. Rob Adams who normally starts at defensive end, filled in very well for starting safety Will Piccarrello, having many pass defended throughout the game. Chad Capasso had another sack and has proven to be virtually unblockable. Also a group that often gets overlooked in the sport of football, the offensive line played amazing. They did an excellent job of pass protecting, giving me the time I needed to find my receivers and I was not sacked once. This group included Adam Spencer, Henry and Chad Capasso. They deserve as much credit as everyone on the team for this win.

This week February 10 we have a bye week. Our next game is on February 17 against Belfiore Meats at Cappodano Turf.
