Earth Day Activities in the Poconos for 2013 will be happening everywhere on April 20,2013.
For Pike/Wayne County Earth Day Activities can be found at The Pocono Environmental Education Center on Emery Road in Dingmans Ferry, PA. Festivities are scheduled from 10am to 4pm and include hands-on learning stations, conservation and animal exhibits, crafts, food, music, interpretive hikes, and more. Admission is $5 per car. Or you can join the Pike-Wayne Earth Day Festival from 10am to 3pm at the PPL Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center at 126 PPL Drive in Hawley, PA. Activities include bird walks, kayak demonstrations, games and crafts for the children, and a Species Celebration. Activities are free and open to the public.
In Carbon County you can join the Earth Day Festivities for the Jim Thorpe Earth Day Celebration in downtown Jim Thorpe. Activities include an Earth Day Auction, book readings, crafts, special activities for the children, energy workshops, river clean-up, a recycled rhythm drum circle and more. In Monroe County you can join the Earth Day Festivities by visiting the Tobyhanna State Park Cleanup on April 27th from 9am to noon. Volunteers are needed for planting trees, grooming trails and removing litter from the park’s shorelines and pathways.
