Buyers are showing up again looking for vacant lots here in Del Norte County, California. And the ones who call, want to start construction right away.
Many investors purchased their oceanfront or oceanview lots before the downturn of the market. At that time, it was hard to find a home, much like some other markets around the country, so they purchased these lots, hoping to build their dream homes for their retirement.

Although we still have homes for sale and at excellent prices, most of them are older and come with problems. They also have outdated kitchens, bathrooms, etc.
Today's vacant lot buyers want to build their dream homes to their specifications, and want to take advantage of low interest rates.
Although I feel sorry for the sellers who purchased their property at the height of the market back in 2003-2007, it is good news for them that now they can at least sell them, albeit at a loss.
