Jewel Box Homes - Boomers trending towards Compact Luxury

The kids are raised, the huge family home is starting to need some expensive updates, anPatio Homed truthfully it's a whole lot of work to maintain.

Some baby boomers are opting for the Jewel Box - a compact but luxurious place to call home. These low maintenance homes are popping up all over Colorado Springs.

The lots are small, but located in Beautiful Communities with professional landscaping and often with amenities like athletic centers, golf and club houses. These practical homes feature main floor living, but can offer downstairs entertainment for the kids when they come to visit. Yard work is little to none, unless you want to keep a small flower or Salsa Garden!

The Italian Villa is a gorgeous concept - Rustic Stone & Stucco homes are built along a lovely cobblestone street with fountains at the entrance to the Villa.Patio Home

Mountain retreats and Southwest Architecture are also popular themes for these hot new communities. With more free time, boomers are trending towards compact luxury with Jewel Boxes, so that they can enjoy a luxurious lifestyle and focus on what's important to them.

Contact me if you're considering building a Jewel Box in the Colorado Springs/Monument area, a reputable High End building team is packaging their custom finishes (granite, 10 ft ceilings, 3 car, much much more!) into a beautiful, affordable home - about $389,900, lot included!

Hi Teresa -- that appears to be a fairly large kitchen for jewel box living(by the way, I like that term) -- we are also seeing a trend toward smaller spaces.    I think it's a combination of high prices in our market as well as the trend of scaling back and simpler living.

You're right this, this Jewel Box is 3600 sq feet of awesomeness! Granted some would say that 3600 sq ft is not downsizing, but it does include a full basement. I see a real a marketing push to these Boomer communities. I do think that the social benefits are appealing too, as the kids leave, parents have time to hang with their own friends, how nice if they live down the street!
