Here is a step by step approach on Preparing Your House For Sale - Part One. The other part will follow tomorrow.

1. De-clutter and de-personalize
Consider renting a Storage Locker. When it comes to De-personalizing, number 4 on my list will help cover that.

2. Work on getting rid of odors
Odors can be a real roadblock in selling your property. Ask you agent, "How does my house smell?" Be serious when you ask. Be ready for the Real Estate Agents honest reply.

3. Employ the services of a major maid cleaning service company
This isn't as expensive as you think and it can definitely decrease the days on the market for your home. In other words, your home might just sell faster!

4. Employ a professional to stage your home
I strongly believe in professional Home Staging. I could share example after example of homes that haven't sold because they needed to be staged. Over-sized furniture needed to be stored, or Pictures on the wall needed to be swapped out for something not so personal. The list can go on and on.

5. Don’t forget to clean the garage
Remember, your garage is part of the property you want to sell. Make it salable!
