Springtime in The Plaza, Salt Lake City UT

flowers in The Plza, Salt Lake City UT

It's is called The Plaza in Salt Lake City UT. It is bordered by Temple Square, The Joseph Smith Memorial Building (the century old Hotel Utah), The Church Office Building (26 floors), Beehive House and Lion House. Actually the Plaza is the roof of a multi-level carpark.

The warmth from the carpark allows a profusion of early spring flowers - and they are there everywhere, color, shape and type. You would marvel at the size of some of the blooms. A wild array, yet beautifully kept in well-tended beds.

The Plaza has its water features, from the large to the smaller. In effect you are invited to follow the water flow and the flowers. It is all Visitor Welcoming and very Visitor Friendly - for a quick wander or a prolonged stay. Take time to take in a visit to the top of the Church Office Building, to see the color of The Plaza, and observe the power of Salt Lake City and its sentinel mountains.

A definite must on your "to see" list: a stroll in the Plaza, Salt Lake City UT.

Patricia - Certainly a reward after a long winter. The blooms seem to thrive in pale light, and then emit light of their own.

Valerie - Tulips can appear so ordered, or can be part of a display, adding their own seal to the color.

Wayne - thanks for stopping by to share the experience with us.

Exploring your Utah today, Larry. Really know very little about the state and getting an education. In fact, my knew word for the day is: WASATCH - for the Wasatch Front Mountains you wrote about in a blog. Now I see where Salt Lake City fits. lol  And as for the flower bed - gorgeous!

Jane - always great to have the lowlanders visit. Hope you have time for a memorable visit. Now you have learned WASATCH you can add OQUIRRH for the mountains to the west of the Valley. Plan to come again at different times of the year (especially for Christmas) - always changing.
