Being the owner of Century 21 Preferred, I talk to my agents on a daily basis. In our recent meetings everyone is saying the same thing,"The market is starting to take an upward swing." The phone is ringing 5 times more than this time last year and every bank owned home I make an offer on has several others already. I really feel that we are at the bottom of this real estate tumble we have had for the past two years. With rates for a 30 year fixed mortgage at around 5.5% the time to buy for many renters is right now. I have several clients right now that are buying, because with the low prices and interest rates it does not make sense to rent. At the recent home auction in San Diego over 3,000 buyer's showed up for 228 homes at 10 to 1 ration, we have not seen numbers like this at any auction.
