Duxbury Beach

Duxbury Beach, on an April afternoon.

The Gurnet Bridge is still under re-construction, so the only approach is from the Marshfield side, on Route 139.

Well, unless you want to risk incurring the (friendly) wrath of the Harbormaster if he catches you crossing the construction zone.

I took a few minutes, after viewing a lovely beach home on the Gurnet this afternoon, to walk in the sunshine.

Duxbury Beach

April has been cold and gray here, and the warmth of the sunshine took the edge off the chill that lingered in the steady onshore breeze.

In town, the smell was of new mulch on many a lawn and garden. On the sand, the salty brine left its bracing tartness in my nose.

Oh Brad, Brad...you are becoming a writer!  I want an autographed copy of your 1st book.  And just what did the Harbormaster say to you?  Great pics and thanks for sharing.

Hi Brad -- I agree with John Johnston -- very well-written post -- almost novel-like.

Kathleen, I love that the Atlantic Ocean pulls on your heart strings.  I hope you have a good weekend, too!

Oh, John, you dost thinkest too well of my prose, but thank you!  The Harbormaster stopped me while running over the bridge one day and just politely told me I'd have to stop at the end of the bridge and couldn't cross the construction zone.

Thanks, Dorrie.  It is magical.

Michael, the novel would be more like a coffee-table book!  :)

The beaches of the South Shore is what drew us to have a home in the area. If we wanted, you could walk the beach for miles.
