Last year I bought a building and remodeled it to use as my office. This is one of the best investments I have ever made, I believe. It is so nice to come to work everyday and know that I own my own building. Paying a lease rental is deductible from my taxes but making real property improvements is also. Knowing it is yours, gives you such an incredible feeling. It's like nothing else in the world.
We tell our clients, everyday, they need to own their own home. Home ownership provides so many benefits but so does office ownership. I wonder how many offices are owned by the brokers that own the business as well. How many of you are still leasing office space? What kind of equity are you building? When I think of how much money I put in someone else's pocket, I cringe!
Now, the equity that is being generated goes into my pocket. Yes! I can live with that! How about you? Is it time you invested in your business for yourself?
