Glued Down?

While enjoying our occassional Starbucks moment today,  Ralph pulled on the coffee table adjacent to our selected seats.

The table did not budge!  He tugged on it.  Still no movement .  After a few bewildering moments we concluded that the table legs had been glued to the floor.

Novel decorating premise.  It does assure that no one will relocate the table.  It can be easily located at all times.  The glue precludes the table legs from scraping the floor.  It just is such a departure from the norm that it seems weird.

I would like to have the chance to easily move that table if I wanted. Not as a consumer, but as the owner of the store, but I guess the owner has good reason for gluing down the legs.

This was probably done as a safety precaution. If you bump up against something solid, your natural instinct is to move in the opposite direction, if however the object moves upon contact, your body has a tendency to move in the same direction. Example: when bumping into a kitchen table your body retreats, when you back into a bicycle, both you and the bicycle fall over. One of the phenomena associated with human reflex actions....

Hmm...as long as the chairs move I guess.  I am small compared to most and usually have to move up to the table.  I hate when the tables or chairs can't be moved.
