There are miliion and one lead generation services out there and the vast majority give you something other than a real lead. It might be a warm body. It might have a phone number and an email address, but it's not a real lead.
A real lead is someone who comes to you or your website and is considering working with YOU. A real lead is not someone searching on some random MLS search, and frankly, a real lead is not even someone who is searching on your agency's website.
A real lead, one that you have a very good chance of turning into a client, is someone who, at the very least, knows your name. Just think about how much easier it is to market to a lead who know's you exist.
Cold calling is hard; and contacting a "lead" from one of the many services out there that randomly assigns you is basically cold-calling. And we all know it takes an awful lot more work to "convert" a cold lead.
But if they've already come to you or your website for real estate information, or even better, if they've already GOTTEN real estate information from you...well then, THAT'S A REAL LEAD!
And a real lead is not only easier to market to and easier to nurture in to an eager client, a REAL LEAD is someone who already, on some level, thinks they might want to work with you!!
