"April Showers Bring May Flowers?"

Westminster, CO - Remember that ole saying, "April Showers Bring May Flowers?   In Denver, we always laugh about that saying and many of us replace the words to say, "April Snows Bring May Woes!"  Why woes?

Since, April is typically the 2nd snowiest month of the year... yes, April is, with March being the 1st snowiest month.  It usually creates lots of snow in the mountains thus creating a lot of water run off with the rivers and creeks, in May.  This too, can cause some flash flooding through-out the state, as well as in the Denver area.

Yet, this snow fall is still a welcomed event.  The snow base is probably still down 35% from normal years, and this is what keeps our mountains out of "fire danger" and water droughts through-out the summer months.  We must keep our lawns pretty and green!!

Besides, we had our Spring warm weather over the last few days, like in the 70's!!

LIFE IS GOOD!!

Oh no!  I just got cold looking at that picture!  The weather finally broke here in Fort Wayne.  80 and sunny today.  Sorry, not trying to be "that guy!!"

Somebody didn't get the message. Something we have absolutely no control over. Beautiful sight.

Nature will not be rushed Dan! There is a reason for the erratic weather...but frustrating to be sure! I lived 17 years in Colorado and the weather can change from snow and 40 degrees to a sunshiney afternoon in the 60s.

Joe and Wendy, thanks for the comments.  No doubt that the weather is something we have NO control over, and it is quick to change at 5,280 ft above sea level.
