Today I got the pleasure of attending an Agents Garden District Tour of Homes - in Alexandria, Louisiana, my market area. There are subdivisions that i know practically every house in, both inside and outside, and have a good awareness, at least in my mind, of what the interior will be like.
These agent tours are fabulous because they have shown me some houses that I probably would not have thought to bring to my clients attention had I not been inside of them. Towns like ours that have beautiful Garden Districts have so many hidden gems in them, the past is combined with the present in splendid fashion when an owner has taken pride in updating and restoring the home.
Some of the homes in particular today blew me away with their space and livability! These are homes that as an agent, I will admit, I have seen on the MLS, checked out the cover photo and kept on browsing because they do not look from that angle to be the house that on the inside they really are! Each of these houses, when I walked in the door, took me by surprise. The purpose of these agent tours are for just that, for agents like myself that are not already familiar with the house and may not have been likely to bring it to a clients attention. Now I, and hopefully other agents, are thinking, boy, I can't wait to find a client that I can take to that house!
The best part about this real estate career is that i absolutely love finding just the right house, or helping a house sell go easily and smoothly for my clients. Each and every house you tour as an agent helps in that process. I had my eyes opened to some new great uses of space, of restoration and of updating that I will carry with me and use in my daily real estate endeavors, by taking my Garden District Tour of Homes in Alexandria Louisiana!
