The Carlsbad Village Faire is Sunday May 5, 2013 in Carlsbad California
It’s Friday and almost the weekend. Looking for something to do?
Hard to believe but it’s time again for San Diego County’s largest street fair, the Carlsbad Village Faire, this Sunday, May 5th in downtown Carlsbad Village.
The Carlsbad Village Faire is the nation’s largest 1-day outdoor street fair. As always, the fair will be held near Carlsbad Village Drive and spill over onto side streets including Grand Avenue and State Street.
The Carlsbad Village Faire (one of two each year) is an amazing outdoor event, open from 8 am until 5 pm with something for everyone. Typically 100,000 attend this fair, featuring over 900 vendors (featuring clothing, arts and crafts, gift items, collectibles, garden items, antiques and so much more), and multiple food booths at the International Food Court, the annual Pancake Breakfast at the railroad depot from 7 am until noon, plus the always-popular Rotary Club’s wine and beer garden.
When you get tired of visiting all the vendors you can indulge in the wealth of restaurants and retailers in the Village area, plus there are lots of things for kids to enjoy. And the beaches are just a couple of blocks away.
You can expect parking to be a challenge, given the crowds, so plan to get there early – but the parking is free in Carlsbad.
You might also consider the free parking and shuttle service from the Westfield Mall (at the 78 and El Camino Real/Jefferson) and the Poinsettia Coaster Station on Avenida Encinas between Palomar Airport Road and Poinsettia.
The Carlsbad Village Faire is free and NOT to be missed.
