Sharpening Your Skill Set takes Innovative Perseverance

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Selley Group Real Estate, LLC

Those who are rising to the top in the real estate profession are always looking for clear-cut advantages over the competition. Instead of comparing our brokerage with others, we’ve taken an approach that provides topnotch service to our clientele and also lends less stress to our way of doing business.

Basically, we’ve embraced the idea – to always continue to sharpen our innovative skills – whether this includes technology or interpersonal or educational aspects or alternately, as this pertains to unlearning some things that we thought were essentials.  Of importance in this process is the fact that our brokerage of Colorado Springs homes typically doesn’t take time to make comparisons with other brokerages.

Rather, we hash out new ideas then we put these newly acquired thoughts into practical action, even when they appear frighteningly uncomfortable at first.  Of course, this process of newly inspired innovation only works when “analysis-paralysis” isn’t the dominating theme.

Innovation happens when you refuse to hold tightly to the fear of failure and are willing to go one step beyond yourself – personally and professionally speaking.

I like that line, and it's very true. But eventually that fear gives way to confidence, with the more you do something, and you move onward and upward.

Couldn't agree more. After the getting past the initial learning curve, it can make doing more things a lot easier. Leveraging our time is critical in this business.

I'm still waiting for the robot to be invented to do more of these tasks for me. It's job would be to go out and earn the money. I would just take vacations.

I very much like the approach of tossing aside ideas or practices that no longer serve you and focusing on ones that WORK! That is the epitome of being productive.

Great observations!  Comparing yourself to others might actually hinder innovation and lead to complacency.

Good morning Gordon,

First let me say I love you new profile photo!! I'm with Gary's comment and agree sometimes you have to: toss aside ideas or practices that no longer serve you and focusing on ones that WORK! This how to be the most productive.
