Mona, congrats to Charlie! How long did it take him to get you trained? Enjoy your day!
Hi Mona,
And when I saw the title of the post I thought you might had been saying welcome back to me....Silly me. LOL
I too have a pet by the name of Dollar a very small Chiwawa (I know it's not spelled right LOL)
She really gets all excited when I get back home even if I was only gone for a few minutes.
I love it.
Have a great day in Dillsboro.
Best, Clint McKie
Good morning Mona. Charlie is a lucky boy and I think he knows it. Being in the company of you and Leslie and all the doggie friends is quite the life. Great picture.
Mona, I know you like seeing that friendly face waiting for you as you come home. He can still see the birds and outside goings on through the window and stay safe.
Wayne, I'm pretty receptive to training by animals! I adapted quickly.
Kristen, that Wayne is a pretty insightful guy.
Clint, trust me...the only downside to being so busy with real estate is that it's so hard to get to all of my AR friends. Don't worry about the spelling, phoenetics are phine.
Thanks Sheila, Charlie is pretty happy with the way things turned out.
Debbie, he loves to watch the birds and this way both he and the birds are safer.
Good Morning Mona, Funny we still have 2 wild feral cats from 8 years also, we trap 5 of them and got them fix. We are down to just the 2 black ones, they wait every morning for me to open the garage door that they will get their breakfast. Have a great Sunday.
Will, it would be the greatest disappointment to me if I don't get a chance to meet you, Belinda and Erin in person some day.
Mona, My dear friends lost their dear tabby cat about a year ago. He never came home. They believe a raccoon or other animal got him. They searched for weeks. Searched the creek beds where he loved to roam. They hired a professional who tracked his scent. They put up lost posters all over the neighborhood. In the process the ended up adopting another tabby cat they found while looking for their lost love. That feral cat has come a long way. He does get to roam during the day and he comes home and stays indoors at night. A good balance for both ... but the risk is still there.
Mona~ I think our last cat was a total lap kitty. If someone sat down and made a lap, she was there, ready to get comfy. After she passed, we decided no more pets for us. It's just heart breaking to say goodbye.
Kathleen, we certainly aren't the experts in how to keep a cat but that would be such a nightmare to not ever know what became of our cat. Besides, tracking in the fleas or bringing the prize mousey...not for us! I'm so sorry for your friends and have no doubt they very much loved the cat but you are right...such a risk.
Donna, hah! like you have a choice. If you are loving cat or dog people, you are just taking a break and will still have another pet in your life.
Hi Mona,
Isn't it nice to have a pet waiting for you when you get home and loves you unconditionally. Pets give us such joy and really do expect very llittle. I love my three little girls and they just bark for joy when we come home.
I like your photo...nice finishing touches.
Two of mine are my "welcome home greeters" though sometimes I wonder if they're happy I'm home or just hoping I'll feed them :) Charlie has a great life and family!
Ah. So now you are the cat whisperer too??? Love it. Charlie looks like a handsome fellow and I am glad he is keeping tabs on everyone.
Hi Mona- lovely post... cats are people.. dogs are people... they make themselves understood in so many different and interesting ways.. I never thought my feral kitten (no 3 years old) would compete for bed time with our dog... they both negotiate for the closest spot next to me... I have long ago realized that the glass of water by my bedside is for the cats... and I have to come expect my other cat to come to bed at 5 in the morning to remind me it is getting close to her breakfast time... My little cat (for she still is - has never been a great fan of human food) will follow me dutifully to the bathroom, guard me.. whereas my dog now will just stay on the bed (he knows I am coming back).. It is so funny watching them... and I love it!
Kristin, there is nothing like the greeting from our pets. They are just as excited if we've been gone for five minutes or five days!
Diane, I have no doubt that some of the excitement from the pets is because there are treats and food involved, lol.Belinda, hello friend. Charlie is a handsome fellow from the back or front. Charlie should be called chatty Charlie because he's quite the conversationalist.
Gay, I loved your comments...I feel like I know your lifestyle so much better now. It really is good to hear from you.
