Get that garden planted...

Yes , the weather has been a bit cool, but some thing still need to be put in the ground.

Most root plants like the cool weather to start with.

Radishes are a great one for the coolness along with peas.

If you wait until the weather is nice, some of the plants will not do well.

Somethings need to wait until the fear of frost is gone...usually around mid to late may.

If you are planting a garden...You better get on the ball or the summer will be gone!

Bill...

I'm running late this week because of the weird weather. It's in the 40's right now, which is very unusual here in May!

I'm starting my garden now.  It's a bit late, but I'm hoping everything works out.  I can already taste those Jersey tomatoes!

We are ready and just waiting for Mother Nature to cooperate. Our planting season is like yours...around the third week of May, but  this year has been a bit different and I think our last frost date is going to be later. Still we had to stock up on our favorite heirloom variety tomato plants. I have many flats of veggie plants and herb plants in my kitchen ready to hit the ground when I feel confident. They get a trip out to the deck everyday to get some real sun and enjoy the nice days.

The weather has been rather unusual here, but you are right... you can't waste time.

Good advice for those gifted with a green thumb; I am not one of them. I do have my roses and irises to challenge me.
