the blinking Red light...on your home phone

This is really just for those of you who still have a 'land line' connection within your home.

As I sit here at my desk area, on my left is a Land line phone.

When we changed our phones over to Comcast / Xfiniity [which is very good AND fast] we were unaware that there was [ is ] a
Trick to utilizing the "Red Light signal[s]".

Previously, we would enter a room with one of our three land line phones and check for that 'flashing red light'

Can you 'see' the Red Circle?.  that is where the small red light always blinks [ on this photo, naturally, the light appears Black]

NOW,  you must click the right hand size "cid" button to see IF this red light means Actual calls.

Should that be the case, then you must move to the Left bottom "Menu select" button. Then on & on through the selections

One would think that in this day & age this type of communication system would be a litle easier.
I have discovered that if you move your fingers in a certain rhythm, you can fly through the choices.

I particularily like the main selection window or Choice window.
If you are a quick reader, you can pattern both hands to let you move through this process at a great speed.
In fact, at times, you can actually find that you have deleted ALL your calls without not actually mentally register "from whom"
they came.

Shucks!
My balanced point remains--'if it was important' you can walk upstairs & use one of the other two phones.
Should you delete those  [or should your spouse have already done so ] then  'Game Over'.

We believe that IF it is important, the call will come again. {Hopefully]

Now that our Home is close to:
...hearing from the one remaining person who will assess or appraise [ they have already had 8 days to so do ]
...actually moving forward to "Closing", we really don't want to play with records of calls received.

Soon, soon, we will find this to be totally funny--
Not Now!

Not Yet!

Good luck with your phones.  I have not yet figured out how to use all of the features of our phones.

Awesome post, Barb & Sal. There have been instances that I run to similar issues whenever I have a new phone or gadget. Thanks for sharing.

Barb and Sal - I haven't had a home phone for years and I'm sure if I had one I wouldn't know half of what it does.
