Now I'm a pretty avid Bulls fan and I consider myself a loyal supporter through thick and thin. But today after listening to person after person killing D. Rose on the radio for not coming back, I felt compelled to write a quick blog with some of my Bulls and D. Rose thoughts.
1. The Bulls 1st round victory against the Brooklyn Nets proved two things to me: 1) The Brooklyn Nets are a phony team and are not built to go deep into the playoffs. They overpaid for a lot of players that are at the top of their potential already and have no where else to go but down. So unless they some how get Dwight Howard this off season, they're going to be a average to sub-par team in the east year in and year out. 2) Thibbs is the best coach in the NBA right now. The fact that he got his team, who was basically missing half of its players, to pull out that game 7 win proves it. No other coach right now would be able to pull of what he did, with his most important players missing (i.e D. Rose, Luol, and Kirk) and hurt (i.e. Joakim, Taj, and Nate). If Popavich, who in my opinion is probably the second best coach in the league, was missing Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, and Ginobili, there is no way that they would've gotten out of the first round. Thibbs instills a belief in his team that they can win on any given night provided that they do what he tells them to do, and that's a tough thing to accomplish in the NBA.
2. People are killing D. Rose for not coming back which I understand, but I also understand and accept his reasons for not coming back. My biggest issue with the way this whole drama has unfolded is that the Bulls as an organization should have just shut him down from the beginning of the season and said from the get go that he's going to sit out the whole season no matter what. By not doing so, they've opened up themselves and D. Rose to fans questioning his heart and loyalty. Now if Rose was to come back today, I would obviously welcome him with open arms and be very excited to see the best PG in the league play again, but I also fear that if he were to go down again because he rushed back to soon that we would witness the end of one of the most promising careers in the history of the NBA.
3. As sad as it makes me to say it, I don't think the Bulls have enough fire power to beat the Miami Heat in the second round. I say the Bulls over achieve and force the series to 6 games. Either way I'm rooting for the Bulls and hope for the best! GO BULLS!!!!!
4. One of the great things about living in Chicago is that we have a great sports culture here. Our Teams may not always be the best, but the fans and the passion they bring are second to none. So as usual, if you're looking to relocate in the Chicago area, hit us up!
Waiting for THE RETURN,
