Mormon Temple Announced for Cedar City, Utah

Real Estate Agent with D&B Real Estate

Big news for Southern Utah: Mormon Temple Announced for Cedar City, Utah.  Mormons, and many non-Mormons, know that this is a tremendous boost for the economy of a small city like Cedar City, Utah.  While the number of temples is growing worldwide, there are only a few places in Utah that enjoy the benefits of having a temple located right in town.

For Mormons, or Latter-day Saints (LDS), the opportunity of having an LDS temple within a few minutes drive, rather than an hour, or several hours away, has practical as well as religious benefits.  It means less time traveling, and more time to actually enjoy the peace and serenity that is prevalent throughout the temple.

For locals who are not Mormon, it has been demonstrated that temples bring with them an upswing in the local economy, and an increase in local property values.  Once a temple has been announced for a city, the immediate questions are about the exact location, and the timetable for construction and opening for use.  Sometimes temples can take years just to determine an approved location.  In the case of the Mormon Temple announced for Cedar City, Utah, it is estimated that the whole approval and construction process will take about 3 years.

Mormon temples are extremely elegant, beautiful structures that are attractive up close and from a distance.  As is usually the case, this Mormon temple in Cedar City will be located on a hill where it will be seen from many parts of the town and from many miles away.

If you have not yet had the opportunity to tour a Mormon Temple, you can look forward to the time when the temple is completed and will be briefly open to the public so all can see this magnificent structure, both inside and out.  For more info on temples:
