Okay, here it is...the big day. Leslie is taking me to the Asheville Airport shortly and I'll be flying to Atlanta, hanging out there for a couple of hours and then continuing onto the Tampa Airport. I really like leaving from Asheville. There are only a few gates, it's friendly and very small town in a big city way. Flying out of or into Asheville is so gorgeous with an incredible view of the Blue Ridge range. Flying into Atlanta is just as fascinating, so many buildings and ribbons of highway and completely unlike our little section of Western North Carolina.
I'll get into Tampa shortly after 1:30. My sister-in-law (love her!) Marsha and my mom will pick me up. Then tomorrow morning very early, Mom and I will drive to Montgomery, AL. It's our annual trek to the Shakespeare Festival. Last year was the first time for me but my mother and father used to go every year before coming to see us in Balsam, NC. Montgomery, AL was a real treat, I was surprised to see how organized and clean the city was for being a large city. The plays are extraordinary, and the grounds housing the theater are a photographer's delight. I've been busy transferring photos from the memory card to a flashdrive to free up space.
After the Shakespeare Festival, my mother and I will drive to Balsam, NC and visit with Leslie for a few days and then drive back to St. Petersburg. A big stop for us during that leg of the journey is in Valdosta, GA where the most amazing used bookstore is. They raise money for cancer research and most of the books are hard cover. Nothing is over $3 and most are $1 or less.
I hope you enjoy taking the trip with me. I'll be photojournaling the whole way AND managing to do business at the same time. It's a wonderful time we live in. With a cell phone and a lap top, plus Leslie and the Office Manager holding down the MoonDancer Realty fort in Dillsboro as well as our other agent, David Kelley picking up the clients who need real time personal attention...there's not much that can't be taken care of from a distance.
There is so much going on with springtime that I know it will look completely different when I get back. Trees like this that are just now budding out will be completely filled with leaves the next time I see them.
