Barbie DreamHouse Debut in Sawgrass Mills Mall Sunrise Florida
Today May 8th, 2013, was the Grand Opening of the much anticipated Barbie Dream House located in Sunrise Florida in the Sawgrass Mills Mall. The kids and I have been looking forward to this for quite some time and we were not disappointed. 
For those who don’t know, the Barbie Dream House® allows People from all around the world to literally step into “Barbie’s World” and see her Real Life Malibu Mansion up close and personal. It’s Awesome!
Some interesting facts I learned, was that the original Barbie Dream House® debuted in 1962. There are only 2 Barbie Dream Homes in the World! One in Berlin Germany which is quite large at 25,000 square feet and the other is here in South Florida located in the City of Sunrise in the Sawgrass Mills Mall and this Dream House® is 10,700 square feet in size. The Dream House® was built in less than a year, using more than 20 pounds of glitter and 100 gallons of pink paint. The builders and designers of Dream House® did a wonderful job with respect to an incredible attention to detail everywhere you look.
The pink Barbie fun begins with the receipt of a precious bracelet, which is essentially the magic key to enjoying the attraction. The key's clever RFID technology (Radio Frequency Identification) that helps personalize your tour and allows connection with the interactive stations and photo opportunities.
The Dream House has lots of fun rooms for little girls to explore like Barbie’s Living Room, Bedroom, Walk in Dream Closet, Bathroom, Kitchen, Balcony, and Entertainment Room. As you enter thru the double doors, you ride in Barbie’s pink elevators that transport you to different levels of Barbie’s Dream House® and you also get to ride in Barbie’s Jet Airplane too!!
In each room, Kids are delighted by surprises and interactive activities related to each room such as; in Barbie’s Kitchen there is a cupcake island where guests can customize a digital cupcake. In Barbie’s Closet, guests can digitally 'try on” fashions from Barbie's Endless Dream Closet! And of course Barbie and all her friends and family are seen thru out the dream house, and even Barbie’s Dog too.
More than 350 Barbie dolls and other collector memorabilia is on display and much like Disney, as you exit you pass thru the Boutique where you can purchase Barbie Merchandise.
The experience lasts between 45 to 90 minutes, depending on how long the child is immersed in the activities. Visitors can move at their own pace from room to room.
General admission tickets, start at $14.95 for children 3 to 12 and $16.95 for 13 yrs and up. With purchase of the VIP Ticket you get access to the Fashion Runway and Rockstar Stage. Today at the Grand Opening everyone was allowed to participate in these and my Kids said this was their favorite part of Dream House® along with fun in the Kitchen and different video games thru out that they enjoyed using their Using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology bracelets.
I also understand that The Barbie Dream House® Experience can be booked for private and birthday parties. The shopping mall is open from 10am to 9.30pm Monday to Saturday and from 11am to 8pm on Sundays.
