La Quinta kids’ summer classes at the La Quinta Museum
The La Quinta Museum is hosting an experience for elementary school age children called Cahuilla Summer Camp running for six Wednesdays beginning June 12 through July 24 (no class July 3).
Come find out what was it like to be a child in a Cahuilla family hundreds of years ago? What did you eat? Where did you sleep? What did you wear? What chores did you have? What games did you play? Michelle Hedgecock of Caliso Learning will share her knowledge of Cahuilla culture with hands-on activities using some of the materials in the Museum’s collection.
Sign up today for these free classes. They are open to elementary school age children for 6 Wednesdays from 10:30 -11:45 am. Make your reservation now because space is limited!
Call the La Quinta Museum at 760.777.7170 to sign up.
The La Quinta Museum is located in Old Town La Quinta across from the baseball park.

New Summer Exhibit!
La Quinta Museum presents the new summer exhibit opening Friday, May 17: The Mysteriously Enchanting Salton Sea, an exhibit of the attraction of the Salton Sea in the 50s and 60s for boating, water skiing, fishing, camping, hiking, bird wat...ching and more!

With over 500,000 visitors per year in its heyday, the Salton Sea offered marinas, championship golf courses, shopping centers, a private airstrip, and luxury resort hotels. By the mid-1960s, park attendance rivaled that Yosemite National Park. Photographs and interview excerpts of current Salton Sea residents and visitors from Christina Lange's new book, "Portraits and Voices fo the Salton Sea," will offer a wider perspective on its history as well as a glimpse into its present existence.
The exhibit will be open though September! Please come enjoy!
