Edmond’s Yard of the Week is coming soon!

Memorial Day is just around the corner and that is the start of Edmond’s “Yard of the Week” which runs until Labor Day.

Edmond Beautiful Inc., the Edmond Chamber of Commerce, The Edmond Sun and the Home Depot co-sponsor the “Yard of the Week” are sponsoring this summer contest as an incentive for Edmond homeowners and residents to keep their yards attractive by recognizing a few who do. Nominations are accepted for others and by lawn owners themselves as long as the yard is within Edmond city limits and can only win once per year. Nominated homes stay in the “pool” for the entire summer contest.

According to EdmondBeautiful.org, “a special new classically designed “Edmond Yard of the Week” sign designed by Vital Signs with the new Edmond Beautiful Inc., logo on it is placed in the winning yard. A photograph of the award recipients and prize-winning yard is featured in the Edmond Sun’s Home & Garden page on Friday. The winners also receive a free six-month subscription to the Edmond Sun. In addition, they will receive a $50 store credit from the Home Depot and the Mayor will send a letter of appreciation to each recipient.”

Nominate a beautiful yard by calling the Edmond Chamber of Commerce at 341-2808 or  by email. Each nomination should include street address, housing addition and nominated resident’s name and telephone number if known.
