House Blessings in Nampa Idaho
Recently I had the pleasure of attending a couple of different House Blessings.
A house blessing is similar to a House Warming Party ...... in that friends and family are invited over to view the house and to help the new homeowner celebrate their new home.
The two house blessings I attended were similar but different
One was for a woman from my church....Karen....who bought last summer. She recently had some work completed on the home...
New blinds....fresh paint....and some rearranging of her pictures and accessories.
The second was for a younger couple, Andrew and Chasity, also from my church who got married nearly a year ago. they bought a home in March.
All 3 are pretty special folks in my eyes. I see the service they provide at the church.....
They have volunteered countless hours....working in the nursery...helping in the office...taking on leadership roles ,....editing the many videos our beloved Pastor Perotti visualizes and the list goes on and on and on!
With that said....many people attended both house blessings. Family and Friends alike.
Pastor Steve, from Nampa First Christian Church, performed beautiful ceremonies for both sets of buyers.
They were similar but different as he personalized the readings for each.
First he had a dish with 6 candles surrounding a bigger candle in the middle.
He asked for volunteers to come up to light a candle during his reading.
Each candle represented different things that he hoped for the household...such as Compassion, Cooperation, Love, Work....etc
It was actually quite moving.
Then he brought gifts....
The gifts might be familiar to you ....they were spoken of in the movie that is a favorite to many. The movie, "Its a Wonderful Life" has many poignant scenes...
For a Realtor or anyone in the Real Estate Industry perhaps the favorite scene is when the couple was bestowed with gifts upon moving into their new home.
Modeled after the gifts in the movie, each Buyer received from Pastor Steve:
Bread - that this house may never know hunger.
Salt - that life may always have flavor.
Wine (or sparkling cider in our case) - that joy and prosperity
may reign forever.
What a true celebration for all who attended. To be able to help these buyers bless their New Homes was truly an honor.
I loved the gifts and may try to work these into a closing gift basket idea for future buyers.
Thank you Chasity, Andrew and Karen for allowing me to have a special part in helping you with your recent home purchases.
I look forward to helping many others in buying a home in Nampa Idaho...
may they all be blessed!
