He Heard Me!
When people call me to help them refinance and they are "un-
derwater" owing more than their home is worth and do not have a
Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac owned mortgage, I tell them to call their representatives in Washington, D.C. and say, "HEY, where's the assistance for good people like us who have been making our payments but find ourselves underwater and can't take advantage of the low interest rates just because we're not in the Fannie/Freddie camp?" It seems like the president shares my idea because that's exactly what he recommended this past weekend during his weekly radio address.
If you have called your representative, good for you! If not, I encourage you to make your voice heard.
I like to think I have the President's ear and I would certainly give him some suggestions as to how to help the HARP ineligible.
What would you suggest?
