Connecticut State Parks are celebrating their 100th birthday this year! 100 years ago the State Park Commission was formed in Connecticut by a small group of people who wanted to ensure the preservation of the states beautiful New England landscape. On September 29, 1913 the first meeting was held in the New Haven County Court House. Now a century later we are celebrating with a year long birthday bash for our beloved parks. The official kick off to the celebration will be August 14 at 4;30 p.m. at Dinosaur State Park in Rocky Hill, CT. There will be a series of hikes held selected state parks throughout the summer.

Here at Pond Spring Village in Beacon Falls, CT we are proud to have the Naugatuck State Forest, also known as High Rock State Park, right in our backyard. High Rock has been a favorite hiking spot for both beginners and experienced hikers. Nature lovers fall in love with the beautiful water falls that are only a short hike from the lower parking area. If you are brave enough to climb to the top of High Rock you will be rewarded with a beautiful mountain view.

So this Spring go for a hike at High Rock State Park and before you leave town follow the signs to Pond Spring Village and visit us at our Saturday and Sunday open houses. We promote an active lifestyle in our 55 and over adult community. You will fall in love with our spacious duplex style units and our breath taking New England views.
