Anderson Island Memorial Weekend Pancake Breakfast

As they have for many years now, the Anderson Island Fire Department will be putting on their Memorial Weekend Pancake Breakfast. This year it will be on Sunday, May 26 from 8 am to noon.

This fund raiser for the Anderson Island Fire Department will also include the ever popular auction items. There will also be music provided by some of the local artists.

For those who haven't made it out to Anderson Island yet, this is a great excuse to take the beautiful 20 minute ferry ride from Steilacoom, and enjoy the views of the Olympic Mountains and some of the Cascades (assuming the clouds are high enough that day!)

If you are coming out for your first weekend of summer vacationing at your property -- please check the ferry schedules, as they have changed since last year.

THe Purcell Lions Club puts on a Pancake supper every year. It is a decent little fundraiser. A lot of low income people get free meals since we give most of our tickets away.

Joe -- these are great community events, and since the population is relatively small, many people know nearly everyone there.

Than -- great to hear that it helps those in need. Not any homeless on the island - so they don't give away many on this one.

As far as I know, none of the attendees are homeless, just low income who enjoy a good free meal!

William -- It is a great place to make your name known to potential clients.

Than -- sorry I misunderstood. Still a great outreach to the communty. There is a church near my previous office location which does a free supper for the community once a month.
