The Mill River park in Stamford CT, a developing oasis, has been a long time coming, but it most definitely is a welcomed retreat and development.
On May 3, the town of Stamford CT celebrated the Grand Opening of the park located on the corners of Mill River and Broad Street and Washington Blvd.
If you are looking for activities to enjoy the Mill River park, check these out....
May 18th - Fun Saturday Mornings at the Mill River Playground (located on the corner of Mill River and Tresser Blvd) -Free
June
1st- from 10am- noon enjoy the Mill River Playground Birthday Party - featuring the Swingset Mamas, crafts and face painters
in addition....
1st- 10:30am-noon is 2013 Connecticut trails day and you can enjoy an educational walk from broad street to Pulaski Street
4th- "ET" comes to the Mill River Park. Enjoy a free movie in the park...6:30pm The live DJ begins and the movie will follow at sunset.
8th, 22nd and 29th at 11:00am the Fun Saturday Mornings at the Mill River Playground (located on the corner of Mill River and Tresser Blvd) continues....Free
25th- Bring the kids out for their own special movies as "Wreck it Ralph" plays at sunset. Want to work off dinner? The kid's dance party begins at 7pm.....
July
2nd- Spielberg at Sunset continues with "Gremlins" and don't miss the live DJ at 6:30pm (on the Grand Steps)
13-14th - Pork in the Park is presented by the Kansas City Barbecue Society in collaboration with the Mayor's Youth Services Bureau and Bar Q Stamford. Tickets are needed
16th - Family Movie Nights continue with the 7:00pm Kids Dance Party and "Despicable Me" at Sunset.
For those of us who are natives of Stamford, this is so exciting and timely. Soon to come and opening in 2014 will be the carousel and ice skating center and fountain.
