I always get a bit nervous about the condition of some of the hotels and motels that I schedule when traveling. I don’t have a problem when the city is large and has some of the major lodging chains. However, the fear jumps up when I have to stay in some remote areas. I traveled to such a place today.
I had to stay in Yreka for a volunteer commitment and had to reserve a place to stay a while back. There are others that were doing the same, and I got a chance to see their place before getting to mine. Though they stayed a little cheaper, the Best Western that I booked was a luxury castle in comparison.
I am staying at the Best Western Minors Inn here in Yreka. The unit has been recently updated with new furniture and accessories, not your standard small town motel. I would highly recommend this place to anyone willing to pay $80.00 per night plus tax.
The standard queen bed, non-smoking room is beautifully decorated. It has two tables with comfortable seats with plenty of outlets for your computer work. The lighting is great, 5 lamps plus the wall and ceiling mounted fixtures. The vanity is tile with two sinks and plenty of counter space and closet storage. As I’m looking around there are three large wall mirrors in addition to the artwork on the walls.
I’m looking forward to the free continental breakfast in the morning – it sure beats driving in the morning to find food in a small town. The Wi-Fi was fast and easy to use too. There was a surprise token for a discount on the gas across the street; a great idea since the fuel costs here are high and most did not stop to get gas before coming up this far.
If you are traveling to Yreka and need a place to stay, consider the Best Western Minors Inn at 122 E. Minor Street in Yreka, CA 96097.
