Centre County is deeply rooted in Agricultural Heritage. Penn State University was started as a "cow college" in the mid-1800's to help local students learn about agriculture. Those traditions continue with Penn State's Ag Progress Days held every year in August. This year Ag Progress Days will be held August 13, 14 and 15th at the same location as always, the Russel E Larson Agriculutral Research Center at Rock Springs in Ferguson Township.
Each year Ag Progress Days features over 480 exhibitors showcasing farm machinery, equipment, and demonstrations of agriculutral best practices. There is plenty to do for the entire family as well as wonderful treats to eat.
The site features 55 acres of indoor and outdoor exhibitions of equine studies, an agricultural museum and other interactive events. There are various exhibits on beekeeping and gardening as well, not just for farmers but for homeowners as well. Not only are there features just on the practical side of agricultural but also on entrepreneurship and the business side of farming too.
Some of the fun parts of Ag Progress Days are the antique tractor pulls, a Pedal Go Kart Derby, and a Kid's Tree Climb for the little folks.
If you go to Ag Progress Days, be sure to stop by the RE/MAX Centre Realty booth and speak to one of our agents. We'll be there showcasing some of our inventory of farm and rural properties. We have several farm and rural property experts on staff to help with and needs you or your agricultural related business may require.
The experts at RE/MAX Centre Realty have been in business for over 25 years and some are actual farmers as well!
If yo go be sure to give yourself extra time to get in and get out, traffic can be thick as the road in and out is only two lanes.
