Perhaps you do not know what it is like to successfully pilot a canoe in the shark infested waters of the Atlantic during a hurricane, but if you have ever sought a qualified - I reiterate, qualified - mentor or coach to help learn real estate investing, or to help facilitate a transaction, you have a pretty good idea what it is like.
There are literally hundreds of "real estate mentors" advertising online. I cannot speak as to how qualified most are - having been an investor for over 40 years, I have never heard of most of them, and I suspect the majority are just trying to jump on the bandwagon of huge profits. They see "infomercial gurus" like Carleton Sheets, Dave Lindahl , Ron Legrand et al who are in many instances charging thousands, even tens of thousands for their "help".
So then we check out the results, and learn that the vast majority of those "infomercial gurus" have a LOT of unhappy customers who feel they have been scammed. They paid $25,000 and all they have to show for it is an empty bank account.
Most of these "gurus" pocket millions per year. So it is little wonder that so many wannabees are advertising themselves as mentors. And the gravy train chugs along.
There are exceptions, however. I know this because I have successfully mentored thousands of beginning investors. And it did not cost any of them an arm and a leg. My students can sign up for personal, one-on-one telephone mentoring with me on a weekly basis at a cost of under a dollar a minute. At $60 per hour for my time - well, my mechanic gets paid more than that, so the cost is reasonable. But more important, when I coach a student, they actually get their money's worth. As proof of the puddin', my IntelliBiz course and mentoring has maintained an A+ rating at the Better Business Bureau for over 20 years.
So, go ahead and "Flip This House" - if you are not experienced, but have a qualified mentor, it's pretty simple to do.
Oh, by the way - don't venture out on the Atlantic unless your craft is sea-worthy.
