Sometimes The Strangest Things Happen In A Day Of Real Estate!

mini white SchnauzerTwo weeks ago we sold a condominium to a lady who was downsizing from a large five level backsplit home. There was a hitch but we got the bonus!

This very nice lady was looking for a lifestyle change and the only issue for her was, the condominium she loved the most is not a 'pet friendly' building and she has a mini Schnauzer, named Brady.

Staying with her thoughts of a new lifestyle of freedom and travel, this lady started looking for a new home for Brady. She wanted him to have a home with loving people who would appreciate and spend quality time with him.

During the offer presentation on her home, you can imagine my shock when out popped the words "We can take him" tumbled out of Al's mouth!

I had no problems with adopting little Brady, heck he's already trained and is so cute and adorable, actually Brady is also a pure bred rare white Schnauzer. When we say trained, he's trained. When we walk him and get to the curb, all you have to say is "What do we do Brady?" and he sits down until you tell him "no cars". How cute is that?

My only reservation is we have two beautiful and very spoiled Siamese cats and I wondered how they would all adapt. There was a dog in the home when we first got them but that was many years ago. We've had dogs visit but they always leave, this is different. The first day was a bit strained with 'my boys' in hiding. Day two has gone much better with all of them doing the smell check. I think we are all going to be just fine.

Welcome to our home Brady, you're going to help us keep up with our walking program in our get healthy plan!

How wonderful! As an owner of 2 rescue dogs myself it's so heartwarming when I hear of others opening their doors and hearts to animals in need. Brady is a cutie, I know I would never have been able to say no. Congratulations on your new addition.

Al & Peggy,

Very nice indeed. It often happens that a well cared for pet will get spontaneous offers of adoption as in your case. I was selling a condo I had listed that had a "list" of dog breeds the master insurance policy would not accept. German Shepard was one of the breeds. The buyer was a police officer who had a spectacular German Spepard. it was very well trained and friendly. Well one of the sellers offered to take the dog because she just lost her German Shepard (it died) She said he could come visit the dog. It was very nice closing.

What a wonderful story!  Brought a much needed smile to a day that has not been great.  The pup is adorable and I'm sure all the pets will adjust to each other just fine.  Thanks so much for sharing!  Linda

Have a cat that followed me around during a listing video shoot. His owners when we sold home were

hero the maine cat photo

heading to Florida, she was trying to get pregnant a long time and was finally.

But worried about things she read about cat boxes, etc.

Hero was going to the pound... Nope...

I'll take him... neat cat this Hero is.

Al and Peggy, if the menagerie doesn't blend, perhaps the lady can take your cats. After all the dog is as cute as can be and the poor lady is probably lonely.

Dogs are the best.  I don't know what I would do without my two hoodlums.  On the same idea of selling animals with houses, I once sold a goat with a house.

boy with schnauzer dogThank you everyone for all your comments. As you can imagine it's been pretty busy around here. Brady has settled in just fine in fact it seems as if he has always been here. My 'boys' however are taking their time adjusting. They continue to hide out until Brady is hunkered down for the night and then they come for some loving. I have been trying to search them out but as soon as they see Brady they go back into hiding. Hopefully this doesn't last too long.
