A PENNY WISE...A DOLLAR FOOLISH...WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR NEXT REAL ESTATE TRANSACTION.

Real Estate Agent with Tom Marco Real Estate

NOT every agent is the same...there are good/bad and great in every profession....there are basic rules that every agent should follow...we all have the same access to the Internet services, we all know how to put a home in a magazine, we all put signs up..BUT the agent that has the best following...the best referral's from past clients...is the agent that stands apart from the rest.

The agent that can produce offers in a down market..an agent that continues to educate themselves to this changing market..and an agent that has experience in negotiating skills..

Any buyer can drive around, find a home and make an offer.  The person, buyer or seller, that dosen't have that great agent representing them, is throwing their hard earned money away.

Attorney's have a saying,,"a lawyer that represent's themselves has a fool for a client"

Doctors know that they shouldn't operate on  loved one...

There has to be a reason why these two professions have this rule of thumb.

The same holds true for purchasing real estate..a person shouldn't negotiate if they're attached to the outcome..

Selling homes is my job...I see homes everyday...I speak with buyers and sellers daily...I am ON TOP OF MY GAME...AND BECAUSE OF THIS...I AM A TOUGH AGENT IN A TOUGH MARKET.

So though people have sold or bought homes in the past, and probably can now as well, it's the money that is lost because of the expertise they're missing out on for not hiring a GREAT AGENT TO WORK HARD FOR THE THEM.

Catherine,  you are so right, but the FSBO thinks he will SAVE the commission if he sell it himself.

Been there, done that.  When I realized that I couldn't do two jobs at once, I hired an agent.

That was 1999 when I was not a Realtor.  The agent got me more money than what I would have on my own.  Thus, as far as my money was concerned, they worked for nothing.  (out of my pocket)

At the closing I instructed my attorney to give me the check, and when I handed it over to the agent, I said

here is you check, you earned every bit of it.  Thank you.
