Today's Wacky World of Getting a Home Loan Part 1 Bellingham WA

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with Keller Williams Western Realty Lic #23590

My purpose here is not so much of a rant but just to put some of the whacky recent experiences I've been involved with in helping my clients navigate their way to successful closings on purchases involving loans. My underlying motivation is that others will write their own experiences and while I understand it's a long shot - perhaps some common sense will return to the lending industry.

My first real life story consist of a gal putting 60% down on a home and getting grief about two inches of "rot" on the trim of the front patio. This consisted of 2" of trim on a front patio. And the buyer intent was to replace the entire front patio after closing. Of course this is not a difficult fix and we got it done. The point is - the home appraised for over asking price which was in the 400's and the buyer was putting down 60% - this is a no brainer. And the extra fooling around took time and energy. Mostly, quite a bit of emotional upset with the buyer and seller was created over something that should have never come up. And what's with requiring seller's to sign the buyer's loan docs?? That's wacked. - That's it for part 1.
