Pine View School Plan to Achieve Guinness World Record
Here is a fun school wide event to fight hunger and a plan to achieve a Guinness World Record by Pine View School.
U.S. News and World Report named Pine View School for gifted students a No. 6 ranking in the nation and No. 1 in the State of Florida.
When: May 30, 2013 Thursday
Hours: 9:15 am – 10:30am
Where: Pine View School at 1 Python Path, Osprey, FL 34229
Who: Pine View School Interact Club
Contact: 941-486-2001
It’s Not Just the Fun
There will be 488 Pine View students who plan to make 5,000 WOWBUTTER (a soy-based peanut butter replacement) and jelly sandwiches in an hour. After completion, all of the sandwiches will be donated to the Salvation Army and other local food banks to feed the hungry children and people in Sarasota county Florida. The students recognize the problem faced by low income families, and that many children go to bed hungry.
Plan to Break the Record
The students in Pine View are determined to break the record held by UIA – Federation of New York in 2012, of 1660 sandwiches made in an hour.
Event Sponsors
The major sponsors of the event are Wal-Mart Foundation and WOWBUTTER Foods. Donations will be used to buy the remaining supplies. If any excess funds are collected, they will go to The Interact’s global project, which will provide Insulin supplies of Type I diabetes for children in Haiti.
