When I find a great place to eat I like to share it. My wife and I enjoy the small independent places that just seem to pop up out of nowhere. We noticed the Otro Cafe while walking our dogs. Sitting quietly in the middle of a small strip mall on 7th st just north of Bethany Home Rd.
I just thought from looking at the outside is was a regular neighborhood cafe. Probably had a good burger menu, perhaps they nailed the supreme recipe for Mac and Cheese? Who knows. Much to my delight it serves Mexico City Food. There is a big difference between standard fare Mexican food you can get on every corner in Phoenix and authentic Mexico City food. I have been to Mexico City several times and always return boasting about how great the food it.
Otro Cafe Nails it! Wow the Mole Chicken was almost half a chicken. But size aside it was incredible. The hot sauce is the best in town. We even had the added treat of seeing Pauli Shore come in to pick up a meal to go.
