The excitement is brewing in The Town of Flower Mound over the master planned development of Lakeside DFW. This new community is in the perfect location at the northwest corner of F.M. 2499 and Lakeside Parkway, just 10 minutes north of DFW airport. The 150 acre mixed-use development has exquisite lake views in a beautiful treed setting. The plan for Lakeside DFW includes single family homes, restaurants, shops, cafés, lodging and entertainment venues. 
Lakeside DFW had their official ground breaking ceremony Wednesday April 24th, 2013 and The Rhodes Team of Keller Williams Realty was there in full force eager to hear more about what the future holds for this fantastic location. Land development is to start right away and residents should see commercial construction in about 30 days. Lakeside will have up to 705,000 square feet of commercial space and up to 2,200 residential units. There will be two areas for commercial development, one being Lakeside Village which is located on the west side of the development just south of the lake. The second commercial area will be The Shops at Lakeside Village which will be located in the center of the residential community.
The single family home sites at Lakeside DFW are estimated to start in the mid to high $300,000’s. The builders will be American Legend Homes, Normandy Homes and Darling Homes. American Legend and Normandy builds will start in the $400,000’s. A Darling Homes representative mentioned they hope to get access to the lots in the 4th quarter of 2013 which would put home sales projected for spring of 2014. The homes should start around $350,000 but they are still working on floor plans and finish out options.
