Over the past weekend there were thousands of "campers" in the area I was in. Devastation from the Dude Fire was very evident all around and with the high winds and dry conditions, the Forest Service "wisely" put a complete ban on all open flames. Did that stop the campfires? Nope. So what do you do when you see someone who has ignored the numerous notices and fires up one anyway? Go talk to them? What if they tell you to go jump...Now what? That's the bad news but wait; there's more. When you call the number provided to report the fires you are connected to dispatch. The Dispatch operator asks you where you have seen the fire and you then give them the exact local. I mean the EXACT LOCAL! What happens next? Not one dadgum thing. No one shows up, no one investigates, nothing happens. So my question, once again, "WHY MAKE A RULE OR LAW IF YOU HAVE NO INTENTION OF ENFORCING IT?
Then you have the guys who discovered quads. What do they do once they have spent 250,000 dollars on 1 ton truck, toy hauling travel trailer and 4 quads? Drive up and down the same 2 mile road 16 times in one day. Now that is a worthwhile investment of time and money.
Coming out to experience nature for some means blasting the stereo so loud it can be heard over 3 miles away. Hey I love Toby Keith as much as the next guy but can't you do that in town. Yeah, we were all impressed.:/{ from 10 pm to 1:30 AM. Impressed that you would spend 3 hours on the road, purchase camping equipment to get away from the noise of the city and then bring the noise with you. You're a genius.
Then on the Beeline HWY, Here's to GOD protecting fools. Young "mom" doing over 85 MPH with three kids, one in a carseat, (must be safety conscious) in the back of her Yukon. That wasn't the worst of it, Six cars were stacked up behind her.
Ah civilization, gotta love it. Some folks have asked me why I go "so far out" to camp. Out where you have to dig your own latrine when there are established camp grounds for rent "cheap" with latrines already dug, out where the roads aren't maintained, out where you may not see another human being the whole time you are out, out where if something goes wrong you have to deal with it all on your own. Well this should explain some of my reasons. Off to work. Now where did I put that Toby Keith CD?

People are clueless at times.  What most bothers me about your post is the mother driving so reckless with her innocent children in the car.  Not cool!

Turn up the music and sing it loud Hercel, that will help!!

hercel, I don't blame you for getting excited about people who use the camping experience to be as noisy as possible. I can't believe that mother driving so fast with kids in the back. What was she thinking. Oh yes, she was not thinking. Please enjoy your next camping experience wherever you go.
