Free summer concerts, outdoor movies & community events are some of the best things about Colorado's cool evenings that follow our warm (hot!) days. And Denver's northwestern suburbs provide plenty of choices.
Too many choices for one blog post, in fact. So I submit here, for your perusal, links to the pages where you can find more info, followed by the details for Arvada's Summer Concert Series at McIlvoy Park, since I have posted about those concerts in the past.
Thursday night family concerts at McIlvoy Park, from 7:00 until 8:30. Come early with your picnic dinner, no alcoholic beverages please.

June 27- Mile High Community Band- Big Band Swing and Concert Band
July 18 The Boomers- 60s-80s Rock-n-Roll
July 25 - Mojomama- R&B and Funk
Aug. 8 - The Country Music Project- Modern Country
Children’s concerts are on Fridays from 9:30-10:15 a.m. at McIlvoy Park on the dates listed below. This park does not have a covered shelter for shade or seating, so please plan accordingly.
June 21 - Eric & Angelyne- The Amazing DEAF Cattle Dog
July 19 - Beth Epley- Stories, Songs and Comedy for Children
The family and children’s concert series are both free, thanks to grant funding from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District, along with local sponsors including the Apex PRD Foundation, Craft Carousel Gift Shop, Prospect Recreation and Park District, Sooper Credit Union, Arvada Festivals Commission, Arvada Parks Department, Centura Health at Home, Friends of the Concerts and New Dawn Chiropractic & Acupuncture.
Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in City of Arvada parks. In case of inclement weather, performances move to the Community Recreation Center, 6842 Wadsworth Blvd.
