Each year, I look forward to the Annapolis Greek Festival. Typically held the weekend after Memorial Day, starting on that Thursday and going through Sunday, the festival is a wonderful community event that helps raise funds for the parish of Sts. Constantine and Helen. You don't have to be Greek yourself to enjoy the tasty treats like Gyros, Souvlaki, and Dolmades, as well as a huge selection of Greek baked goods - do not skip the Loukoumades, which are similar to donut holes, but soaked in honey. Lots of activities for both young and old, with moonbounces, face painting, arts and crafts, as well as several vendors of Greek goods. While I've never thrown a Greek cd on the stereo, it is fun to listen to the different sounds and watch all the children dance to the Greek bands that play. I recommend you bring cash as the line for the ATM can pile up. Visit www.annapolisgreekfestival.org for more info!
I was sick last year and missed the Greek festival, so I think it's only fair I eat two Gyros this year, right?
