Over the years, I've worked on different ways to market my business (credit repair) to consumers. My task, in a nutshell, is to convince them that I would do a good job at repairing their credit if hired. Easier said than done. Obviously things like stating that you are "BBB A+ rated" or that you "have been in business for 17 years" are helpful at establishing your business as reputable.
But, clients want more than that. They don't want to know that your business has been around and functioning, they want to see results for themselves. I've found the best way to convert prospective clients who are on the fence, is to show them examples of what I have done in the past. In credit repair, I have wave hundreds of letters in front of them that show derrogetory items have been removed from a person's credit report. Equivalent examples can be given in almost any profession, a listing of houses you have sold for a real estate agent, for example.
This works because it shows the client that you aren't simply blowing smoke, you get results! Buyers, especially good buyers, are looking for hard proof. So give them proof! To this end, I have created a section of my website for just work samples, and I think it helps me a lot in terms of marketing. I encourage everyone to do the same!
