The Lemon Bar, Neptune Beach, FL
If you live in the Beaches communities of Jacksonville: Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach & Jacksonville Beach, you have probably heard of, or already visited The Lemon Bar.
The Lemon Bar in Neptune Beach is an open air, oceanfront gathering spot for the locals. It's on the grounds of the Sea Horse Hotel, just off Atlantic Boulevard in Neptune Beach. It's been around since 2000, and has grown in size and popularity every year. The improvements over the years have included expanding the bar and seating, as well as offering more covered space for that occasional passing shower.
Everyone waits for the the season to start when The Lemon Bar in Neptune Beach opens, which down here starts in February. It gets going, but REALLY gets going once the warmer weather hits, and college kids are home from school for the summer.
Offering incredible oceanfront views (which while not tough to find), we have a finite number of commercial establishments to enjoy views of the Atlantic Ocean from.
The Lemon Bar in Neptune Beach, FL now offers bar food, too, which is a huge hit: from ahi tuna tacos, grilled chicken fingers, burgers, and our beloved Mayport Shrimp, you no longer have to leave The Lemon Bar in order to satisfy your belly.
Conveniently located on Lemon Street (hence, the name), The Lemon Bar in Neptune Beach has annual Easter and St. Patrick's Day events, as well as being a great place to get out of the general melee on Thanksgiving Day when a few thousand of our locals flood the streets for an annual Turkey Day celebration that includes imbibing in a beverage in the street on Thanksgiving Day morning.
